Is anyone having an audio issue (HR54, new guide, etc.) where the dialogue of a program suddenly fades to almost zero, yet the sound effects are at their normal volume? By switching the Directv audio menu from DD to Stereo, the problem disappears. So this clearly seems to be an issue related to DD. In terms of my Marantz receiver, no other source results in this issue, whether they're my onboard apps (Netflix, Amazon, etc.) or external sources. Although this does not occur constantly, it occurs often enough to be very annoying. And I thought it was just my ears.

Since the update, my H23/600 (0x4b87) exhibits an issue where music and effects pretty much drown out dialogue. This is connected to a standard-issue Vizio television via HDMI. No soundbar or anything.

If I switch the audio out to DD, the problem disappears on the Vizio. Trouble with THAT is, the kitchen TV, which is slaved to this same receiver, goes silent. Haven't tried the even-older H20 receiver in the home theater. I also rather doubt it's on the list of boxes to get an update. I would think if there were a widespread outage, we would be hearing about it.

Take it from someone in NE Ohio, if you have an inch or more of snow sticking to your dish; you will loose your picture. If that's the case, take a broom and sweep it off.

Don, your issue sounds very similar. Music & effects drown out dialogue. Interestingly it only happens when DD is selected and not when I check 'stereo'. So in that sense our issue is reversed. Don't know how much snow you have; but since you live in SC, I'll assume you normally don't see any.
