Zbrush Insert Mesh Brushes

Pumpkin Patch Napanee Ontario here. Through researching how to create a chain in Zbrush I stumbled upon the Insert Mesh Brush. Aliens Extermination Rom. Which is what the chain/zipper was, except with a curve addition to the stroke. However, you can just leave the mesh as an insert mesh and add it seamlessly to any object you create in Zbrush.
I will now demonstrate this by making a quick face in Zbrush. All I’ll sculpt is the head shape, the rest will come from pre defined brushes inside of zbrush. 1) Starting with a Polysphere, I create a Head shape.
2) Using the IM_BParts Brush in zbrush we will add a nose. But First we must divide this mesh into polygroup, adding a subD or two won’t hurt either. The easiest way to create the polygroup for the nose is to mask the area and under the polygroups tab, click ‘group masked’. Here is the mesh with a polygroup for the nose section.
3) Now select the IM_BParts brush. The trick with an Insert Multi Mesh Brush is that the one brush contains multiple meshes that can be inserted, hence the name. Now you can select which part, Here we will select the ‘Nose’. 4) In order to drag the nose onto your mesh it must only have one sub-division.
So find a nice level with which to work. Nose click and drag the nose onto the mesh. With the mesh masked you can use your move, rotate and scale to reposition the nose. Once your happy with its position, ‘CTRL-Click and drag’ twice. This will clear the mask and then attach the nose the the other mesh.
